Welcome to the webshop of Big Train World, Europe's largest large-gauge train specialist shop in G scale, also known as 1:22.5 scale, also known as railway scale IIm.
Although more and more is bought online nowadays, Big Trian World has a physical (brick) store with fixed opening hours in addition to the online webshop and you are also welcome to visit our store without an appointment.

At Big Train World you can therefore go for almost everything that has to do with large gauge model trains. From rails, locomotives and wagons to houses, figures and landscapes. From control, light and sound to parts and manuals.

Also a real shop:
In our store in Noordwolde (Frl.) you will find a larger collection of different models of rolling stock from LGB on more than 1,000 M2 of retail space than is currently included in the LGB delivery program!
We can therefore proudly say that we have included a very large collection (and perhaps the largest in Europe) of new "old" models in our delivery program.

Extensive collection:
In addition to the models of LGB, which can already be considered the founder of model trains for the garden, we also carry other well-known brands of garden & large track (German-speaking countries usually called Spür G) from, among others, Piko G, USA Trains, Bachmann, Train Line45.
In addition to the collection of large-gauge model trains for indoors and outdoors, you will also find a wide selection of supplies for your large-gauge model train layout in our store.

Not just locomotives and wagons:
Think of beautiful scale models / construction kits of train track related buildings such as stations, locomotive sheds, water towers, etc of the brands Pola G and Piko G. But there is also plenty of choice of village, city and countryside related buildings. And of course there are also bridges to let your train run over a water (fall), other railway or valley.

Digital or traditional analog:
But what is a beautifully decorated model train / garden train layout if your train does not run its rounds smoothly. You can also contact us for advice on the design and construction of a large gauge model train layout. In addition to a well-thought-out plan regarding the construction, there is also a choice on how the model train(s) are controlled. For example, you can opt for the traditional / analog control of your train layout. Due to its simplicity, this is still a reliable and, above all, cheap method to run your trains. Compared to a digitally controlled model train track, the analog controlled track has limitations in terms of possibilities.
For example, on a digitally controlled track on one and the same rail track, you can control several trains individually, for example by (un)coupling wagons remotely or by electrically opening / closing the doors of a wagon. But on the other hand, not everyone needs all these extra functions and money can be saved, for example, by opting for analogue control.
We can therefore advise you when making a choice whether you want to control your G scale model train track digitally or analogously.
